Terms of Service

If you downloaded the App from the Apple App Store, these Terms add to the Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Apple EULA"). If the two conflict, these Terms apply to the extent the Apple EULA allows. Please also read our Privacy Policy.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use the App. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the App only with the permission of a parent or legal guardian, who must also agree to these Terms and is responsible for any purchases.

2. The App

DocuNeat is a mobile utility that helps you:

• find and remove duplicate, similar, blurry and large photos and videos, and (on Android) junk files in folders you choose;
• scan, import, categorize and search documents, using on-device AI and, if you choose, optional cloud AI;
• store documents in a Vault that is encrypted on your device and protected by a PIN and biometrics.

Features may differ between iOS and Android and between device models. We may add, change or remove features at any time.

3. License

We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on devices you own or control, for personal, non-commercial purposes, under these Terms and the rules of the app store you downloaded it from.

You may not:

• copy, modify, distribute, sell or lease the App;
• reverse-engineer, decompile or try to extract its source code, except where the law allows it;
• bypass or interfere with the App's security, encryption, licensing, App Check or advertising features;
• use the App for anything illegal, or to store or process content you have no right to hold;
• use automated means to access our services or overload them.

We and our licensors own the App, including its software, design, trademarks and content. All rights not expressly granted to you are reserved.

4. Your content

"Your content" means the photos, videos, documents, text and other material you scan, import or store in the App.

• You own your content. We claim no ownership of it.
• Your content is stored on your device. If you turn on Smart cloud analysis, you instruct us to send selected content to our AI provider (Google Gemini via Firebase) only to process your request, as described in the Privacy Policy. You give us the limited permission needed to do this.
• You are responsible for your content and confirm that you have the right to store and process it.
• The App does not let you publish content to other users. Sharing or exporting files through your device's share sheet is your own action.

5. AI features

• AI categorization, tags, extracted fields and summaries are generated automatically and may be incomplete or inaccurate. Always review AI results before relying on them, especially for financial, legal, medical or identity documents.
• AI features are not professional, legal, financial or tax advice.
• You can turn off cloud AI at any time in Settings → AI. On-device features keep working.
• If an AI result is offensive or clearly wrong, please report it to [email protected].

6. Storage cleaning: important notice

Storage-cleaning features suggest files that may be duplicates, low quality, large or unnecessary. You decide what to delete.

• Please review every item before deleting it. Similarity and quality detection is automated and can make mistakes.
• Items you delete in the App go to the Recycle Bin and can be restored for 30 days, unless you empty it earlier. After that they are permanently deleted. Files deleted through system dialogs, from folders the App can no longer access, or by your device's own cleanup tools may not be recoverable.
• Deleting from your device library may also delete the item from synced services (for example iCloud Photos or Google Photos), depending on your settings.
• Keep your own backups of important photos and documents.

7. Vault security

• The Vault is encrypted on your device. The keys are kept in your device's secure storage and are never sent to us.
• We cannot recover your PIN or Vault contents. If you forget your PIN, uninstall the App, reset or lose your device, or delete the App's data, the Vault contents may be permanently lost.
• You are responsible for keeping your PIN private and your device secure.

8. Premium subscriptions and purchases

8.1 Plans

DocuNeat is free to download with ads. DocuNeat Premium is an optional paid plan that removes ads and unlocks extra features, as described in the App at the time of purchase. Premium is offered as auto-renewing subscriptions with a monthly and an annual billing period. Prices are shown in the App in your local currency before you buy, and may include applicable taxes.

8.2 Payment

All purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) through your store account, and verified by our subscription provider RevenueCat. We do not process or store your payment card details. Payment is charged to your store account when you confirm the purchase, or when any free trial ends.

8.3 Automatic renewal

Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period (one month or one year), at the then-current price, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends.

8.4 Free trials

Eligible new subscribers may be offered a 3-day free trial on selected plans. The trial length, the plan and the price that applies afterwards are shown in the App before you start the trial.

• Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the trial automatically converts to a paid subscription and your store account will be charged for the first billing period.
• Free trials are limited to one per eligible user and store account, as determined by Apple or Google.
• On iOS, any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.

8.5 How to manage or cancel

You can manage or cancel at any time in your store account settings. Deleting the App does not cancel your subscription.

• iPhone / iPad: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → DocuNeat, or App Store → your profile → Subscriptions.
• Android: Google Play Store → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → DocuNeat.
• In the App: Settings → Premium → Manage subscription.

When you cancel, Premium stays active until the end of the current paid period. No further charges are made.

8.6 Refunds

Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. We cannot issue refunds directly.

8.7 Restoring purchases

You can restore an active subscription on a new or reinstalled device, signed in with the same store account, using Restore purchase on the Premium screen. Subscriptions cannot be transferred between iOS and Android.

8.8 Price changes

We may change subscription prices. Apple or Google will notify you in advance as their rules require, and may ask for your consent. If you do not agree, you can cancel before the new price takes effect.

8.9 Rewarded ads

Some features may be unlocked for free users by watching an optional rewarded ad. Rewards have no cash value and cannot be transferred.

9. Advertising

The free version shows ads provided by Appodeal and its partners, as described in the Privacy Policy. We are not responsible for the content of third-party ads or for the products, services or websites they promote.

10. Third-party services

The App relies on third-party services, including Apple, Google (Play, Firebase, Gemini), Appodeal and RevenueCat. Your use of these services may be subject to their own terms. We are not responsible for third-party services, their availability or their content.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement and accuracy. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free, that duplicate, quality or junk detection will be accurate, that AI results will be correct, or that any amount of storage will be freed.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• BZOTech will not be liable for any loss or corruption of data, files, photos or documents, including files deleted or modified through the App's cleaning features, files lost from the Vault because of a forgotten PIN, uninstallation, device reset or failure, or any failure to back up your data;
• BZOTech will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, goodwill or business opportunity, arising from or related to your use of the App;
• Our total liability for all claims relating to the App is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the App in the 12 months before the claim or (b) USD 50.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations. In those jurisdictions, these limitations apply only to the extent the law permits. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived by law.

13. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless BZOTech from claims arising from your content, your misuse of the App, or your breach of these Terms.

14. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. Remember to cancel any subscription separately (Section 8.5). We may suspend or end your access if you seriously breach these Terms. Sections 4, 6, 7 and 11–17 survive termination.

15. Changes to the App and these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on this page and change the "Last updated" date. If the changes are material, we will also tell you in the App. By continuing to use the App after the changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.

16. Apple-specific terms

If you use the App on an Apple device: (a) these Terms are between you and BZOTech, not Apple; (b) Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App; (c) if the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple for a refund of the purchase price, if any, and Apple has no other warranty obligation; (d) Apple is not responsible for claims relating to the App, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, or intellectual-property infringement claims; (e) you confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo and are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties; and (f) Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

17. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Vietnam, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of any mandatory laws of your country of residence, and you may bring claims in the courts of that country. Before starting any formal dispute, please contact us at [email protected] so we can try to resolve the issue informally.

18. General

If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our failure to enforce any right is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about the App.
